Make Your Own Magic Bullet

I totally stole this idea from Jen at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam. And then I found something that makes it even better.

Jen’s suggestion: use a regular-mouth Mason jar with your regular blender base to mimic a Magic Bullet.

Sheer brilliance, I tell you. :)

I hated washing the blender pitcher AND my smoothie cup, and if you don’t rinse it all out right away, the dried fruit sticks like mad. Now there’s only one cup to clean AND it’s easier to rinse out. (And my blender actually works better like this instead of its regular pitcher.)

My addition: use a Classico pasta sauce jar lid to cover your Mason jar if you need to refrigerate it. No more pesky plastic wrap or aluminum foil.

I’ve used this method for smoothies and salsa so far. It would be great to do individual servings of refried beans or tomato sauce, and then pop them straight into the freezer, too.

Thank you, Jen, for making my life a bit easier :)

If you try it, let me know if your blender fits the mason jars! My hubby was surprised that they had the same threads.

  • I am so excited to try this! I hate washing smoothie out of the blender and the cup! I try to make 3-4 servings of smoothie and freeze them so this would work great for that too! Thanks for sharing!
